Sorry. Meant to say that I am sure the families agree the bodies should be examined by international team of expert for evidence before they bury them.

Now it looks like Russians are going to destroy the evidence before they release the bodies. At least they made d*mn sure independent observers are not there to see what happens to the bodies.

KAL was not an error. The Russians knew it was a passenger jet. They had visual confirmation.

It is sickening seeing media calling “Ukrainian separatists” bunch of Russian masked military thugs executing Putin’s order to annex Ukrainian territory.

When Yanukovych “thing” did not work out, Ukrainians froze at Maidan to put end to “joining great mother Russia”, Putin mobilized his army at Ukrainian border, took over Crimea and now is biting more pieces of Ukraine.

Ukrainian people, even Russian speaking and especially Crimean Tatars do not want to be part of the Putin’s great Russian empire again or ever.

Masked spetznatz and military personnel with modern armaments, no markings, are not Ukrainian separatists!!!!!!

If Ukrainians were desperate to join Putin’s empire, they would peacefully demonstrate for split, just like they did at Maidan. Masked thugs are Putin’s occupying soldiers, terrorizing population and just demonstrated their “skills” by shooting down Malaysian Air. When they were shooting down Ukrainian planes, world was quiet, now they awaken and see the true face of Putin - Hitler.

So media: Please stop calling “Ukrainian Separatists” but use proper name “Putin’s masked occupants of Ukraine!”

Putin’s Russians shot down the plane not Ukrainians. Plane flew across whole Ukraine, until drunk Ivan saw another “Ukrainian” target entering airspace of “Donetsk Republic” and ordered fire, only to see foreign passports and bodies showering the fields.

With military like that Putin is hoping to conquer 40 million of pissed off Ukrainians, who fought Hitler and Stalin?

You screwed up Volodia, Ukraine is not Abchazia.
I hope Russians realize who is leading them and do to him what Ukrainians did to Yanukovych. Then the Slavs can work together to build better future without sick imperialistic gangsters.

I never said they did not, did I?

I merely mention that there were THREE civilian jetliners shot down by military missiles, not TWO, which anybody reading these threads would assume.

Obviously, each situation was different. But there are lessons to gain from each of the prior TWO cases.

“I’m quite aware that the U.S. Navy shot down an Iranian airliner. How does that justify the shooting down of the Malaysian airliner?”

Please point out where I justified the shooting down of the Malaysian airliner. Sheesh. “When did you stop beating your wife?”

You are fighting a losing battle. Any attempt to analyze this situation objectively, will result in a torrent of adolescent name calling, and non-nonsensical rejoinders. Whether it is due to a desire to return to the moral clarity of the Cold War, or due to finding ourselves in a situation where our own country is being destroyed from within (and thus are eager for a good guy/bad guy international distraction), or, in some cases, I even suspect resentment at latent homosexual tendencies arising from Putin (particularly on this site, with a free man, and an aptly named rude boy). The situation in Ukraine was never as cut and dry as people wanted to believe, and this situation makes it dramatically messier. My fear, all along, is that emotional sentiment is driving us to a point where we are doing significant long term damage, damage that we may pay for dearly, whether economically or otherwise. To let emotion trump reason is not a conservative trait. It is odd to find it so prevalent on a conservative website.

That’s how moral equivalence works. It excuses one reprehensible act by equating it to another act that is essentially different. Maybe that’s not what you meant, but that’s how it sounded to me. One of the problems with opinion forums such as this one is that a single sentence comment can get misinterpreted. I’m sure that if we were able to sit down and chat face-to-face, we would agree on lots of things.

There might be 4 cases...What brought down TWA 800?

(It was not a spontaneous short/explosion in the center fuel tank.)

Yes - Governments resort to all sorts of chicanery when something like this happens, and some are better at it than others. Travis is correct in pointing out the other cases.

Why ignore history?

I quite agree. There are many cogent facts pointing to a USN missile taking down TWA 800 by accident. In that case, the conspiracy of lies and silence worked.

Bull$#!+. My goal is merely to point out that this case and KAL were not the only case of passenger airlines shot down by military rockets. Period.

I agree.

(Cause for war, or tissue of lies?)

“Remember the Lusitania!!!”

When this first happened, I would have thought that this was an absurd analogy. Now, what was "absurd" is becoming quite likely. I shudder at the level of insanity that would ensue from a real crisis. We are not the country we once were.
