Maybe tongue-in-cheek now for that hippie enclave, but drop off a bus load of MS-13s, I mean “border children” (sorry), and they will turn Tea Party immediately.

(been there a number of times myself, by the way - if you want a salad at their one restaurant, the waitress pulls some weeds from the front lawn...well it looks that way, at least)

We drove through Bolinas once back in '83 on a trip to Usal Beach. Had sandwiches at the deli there. Camped that night just off the road behind a tree on Tomales Bay. Drove up the Usal Trail the next day. It had been raining for a couple weeks and the road was a muddy mess.

Syncro in his official unofficial Bolinas Border Patrol uniform.

We're also honorary members of the Bodega Volunteer Fire Department. Our official jobs are to consume large quantities of chicken, tri-tip and beer at their annual barbecues.
