I have no idea what you mean when you say you "admire" his leadership. Words have meanings. Here is the definition of admire:

"to have a feeling of great respect for someone or something"

"to regard with wonder, pleasure, or approval."

I have no admiration for this KGB agent who has no respect for liberty, freedom, individual rights, and national sovereignty.
