I agree with you. It would be very dangerous to assume this article is correct and to assume that it's safe to defy a Border Patrol agent. There are some dead folks who are dead for throwing rocks across the border at Border Patrol agents. When they kill someone, it is investigated by another federal agency.
Caution is advised. Basically, these guys have a license to kill.
