Via the Blaze, skip to 9:20 of the second clip for a bit about his chat with Ted Cruz. It occurs to me that this is, in a way, the opposite of Palin’s call for impeachment. Many grassroots righties support impeachment but there’s virtually no one in the political class, including tea-party heroes like Cruz, willing to pursue it.
In the case of Beck’s charity drive for kids from Central America who’ve been sent north across the border, some (maybe not quite “many”) grassroots righties oppose it on grounds that it’s adding an incentive for more illegals to come. But virtually everyone in the political class supports it — again, including tea-party heroes like Mike Lee and Cruz, who has an extra reason as a prospective 2016 candidate to pitch in here. Joining Beck’s charity drive is a way for Republicans who might take a tougher line on border enforcement than the rest of the presidential field to deflect the left’s inevitable accusations that they’re “heartless.” What Beck’s doing here, intentionally or not, by bringing people like Cruz into the fold is creating political space for conservatives to stand their ground on security.
I’m frankly surprised that other big-name righties like Rubio and Rand Paul haven’t asked to participate too, precisely for that reason. Although, in Rubio’s case, perhaps that would be … awkward.
If Democrats end up caving and endorsing some sort of expedited deportation process for the kids who are coming, would that reduce the incentive to cross the border sufficiently to make you support Beck’s charity drive? Or is there nothing to redeem this idea among its opponents?
At the start of Beck’s radio show this morning, Beck mentioned “the militia members who had guns trained on the BLM agents at the Bundy Ranch.”
Beck went on to say that two of these militia members later murdered two police officers in Las Vegas.
No mention of the fact that these two idiots were members of the Occupy “movement” and not militia members. No mention that these two creeps participated in Occupy protests in Indiana, before they moved to Las Vegas; no mention of the fact that the Bundy family ordered these two lefties off their ranch.
And, it’s not the first time I heard Beck making these false accusations about the Bundy’s and their supporters. He’s nuts.
Also, those militia members caused the BLM thugs to back down without bloodshed on either side. Beck never mentions that factoid, either.
His help the “children” at the border meme is wearing thin, too, since most of them are young adults.
Well, it’s a bald fact that the nature of that nutty religion is going to produce some nuts. I think Mormonism is, in Beck’s mind, the crutch that keeps him from drinking, as well.
It’s my personal opinion that he still feels a lot of guilt over his past, and that these feel-good stunts are an attempt to assuage that feeling.
I’ll be honest...before this, I found Beck irritating, nothing more. Now? I can’t stand him.
He started losing me on the Bundy issue. Somehow capitalism is no good anymore. Cannot replace cows.
Beck has become as envious as kooks like Infowar nuts. It is amazing he professes distance from infowar and yet seems to attack capitalism and “imperial” US integrity all the same.
aiding and abetting illegal entry
Glenn’s fallen for the ‘it’s for the children’ political ploy
the entire thing was orchestrated 6+ months in advanced to coincide with a push for amnesty.
Brat’s victory over Cantor squashed those plans
Good points. I haven’t heard him lately (by choice) so he may be farther gone then I am aware of.
I know you as a fan of “The Walking Dead” as I am. My youngest daughter said “They’re letting them in like in The Walking Dead with their diseases!”
More complicated, but she had a point!
Has Glenn turned into a.Jeb Bush style Republican since leaving Fox, or was he always like this? Even Jimmy Carter is using his org. Habitat for Humanity to make homes for Americans not illegal lawbreakers.
Breitbart was right.

About what?
Beck made a name for himself by pretending to be an investigating reporter on Acorn.
It was nearly word for word out of Michelle Malkin’s book.
Now we see what he really is, a talk show host in love with himself.
Aiding and abetting. Sorry, Beck, this is the last straw.
Sun rises in East
Beck begins yet another day of sucking.
Ho Hum.
Scouts Out! Cavalry Ho!
That GB is a fraud. He lifted stories and ideas (ACORN, 9/12, etc), according to Breitbart, for commercial gain.
Andrew compared GB to “dating a stripper”, IIRC.
I subscribed to GB’s Blaze TV for a long time. When he suggested the Bundy supporters could be violent, I said “no mas”. That’s an Alinsky tactic.
He’s always hawking something. This “my listeners have donated over $700K for illegals” thing just doesn’t jive, with me, for some reason.
These “kids” did NOT travel all that distance with nothing but hard tack to chew on. I believe they were bussed within a few miles of the border by our government.
There are many millions of poor children in the world. What makes the children who have violated American immigration laws more deserving than all the rest?
Thanks for filling me in. I had no idea about this stuff.
Sigh. The humane thing to do is spend that $700,000 to send these poor kids back to their parents and where they belong.
Playing Santa Clause might be fun but it isn’t going to change their situation!
Actually it IS all mormons, its part of the brainwashing and Romney was just as bad if not worse than Beck in the sense Beck is a ‘lowly convert’ while Romney is Mormon royalty.
