Sometimes in biblical genealogies, a man will be cited where the apparent intent was to designate a small dynasty beginning with that man. Comparing biblical genealogies seems to suggest that approach in the context of genealogies. However, there aren’t any other clues to suggest the scripture is talking about a “Noah dynasty” here, and why would such dynasties get shorter and shorter with time?
good point... as more and more “relations” are born, the direct link to a “patriarch” is less and less, so the dynasty identifier changes over time.
makes sense.
but little laughter.
