Yeah, when I lived in Japan, you had to have an ALIEN IDENTIFICATION CARD *GASP* ...

Here, they issue an ACR-I card (Alien Cert of Registration- Identity) to every "foreigner". We are required to keep it and our Passport on our persons at all times outside our homes. At a traffic stop, we must show those along with Drivers License and vehicle registration and proof of insurance.

Failur to follow the rules can land you in jail and out the door, if you don't be verrrrrry careful.

But, on the flip side, (most of) the people show deference to us and give us a smile wherever we go. It is a warm place, not only in climate, but in the people!
