The Moros would wrap themselves with leather thongs as armor and charge the line with thei machetes. The 38 caliber pistol was totally ineffective in stopping the enemy before they reached the front lines.

Same problem drug-crazed individuals the cops had to deal with here in the US. Those individuals could take 5 or 6 hits of 9mm ammo and keep on going.
