I wouldn't go that far. There are many good man and women who are in the military and department of defense. My husband for one who retired earlier than he wanted because of the things he saw going on. There are many “yes men” and my husband refused to be a part of doing things and spending LARGE sums of money on projects that were not necessary. Obama has managed to find reasons to get run of many good leaders. Your right to be cautious though.

Your husband left; others are stuck trying to finish twenty years (and I understand that). Too many government workers (especially those jumping on the gravy train now - post-Afghanistan and post-Iraq) will simply guard their paychecks at the ballot box. I see it more with municipal employees than military, though that is also changing.

One dirtbag I know was preaching the virtues of paid fire departments (he is employed as one in my town), and when I asked why he had moved out of town to northwestern NJ (without a paid department protecting his wife and children) he shut up. Laughing all the way to the bank on our expense, but he doesn’t want to pay for the same.
