Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Alison Lundergan Grimes says Kentucky U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell has taken votes to hurt the states seniors but bypassed a question Tuesday about what she would do differently.
After addressing the International Brotherhood Of Electrical Workers (IBEW) District 4 Progress Meeting in Louisville Tuesday, Grimes took questions from reporters on her new ad released prior to the event.
When asked about the validity of the $6,000 out-of-pocket increase figure used in the ad, Grimes responded by saying McConnell will have to answer to his vote on the Paul Ryan budget. According to a fact check of the ad , the AP says the plan McConnell supported in 2011 would not have increased that familys Medicare costs because it exempted people who are in or near retirement from any changes to the program.
The Grimes campaign disputed the Associated Press story citing a National Journal story from 2011 explaining that if the budget had even passed, it could have affected current retirees in some cases.
And when asked by Pure Politics what plan she would like to see to shore up the Medicare program for future generations, Grimes moved on to another question.
A reporter from the Associated Press asked the same question as Grimes was leaving but she did not respond then either.

prefer Grimes to win. Mcconnel is holding us back
Yes, it’s always good to reempower the Lundergan establishment for another generation so we can deal with that problem for another several decades rather than finally sweep it out of power.
She can just say she's for "change."
McConnell needs to pretend Grimes is a conservative and really fight.
Interesting how the media is targeting Grimes here. They usually give the ‘rat a pass. But then again, she’s running against the favored uniparty “conservative.”
And where is that different from any of the Republicans or other Democrats running?
