And how much of the spending has alrady been converted to programs that should be extraneous to the DOD? Like bio fuels, social reengineering programs, LGBTQ programs, etc.
That would be a very bad idea. With Military spending there is actually a return on investment in terms of new technology which makes it’s way into the commercial market and yields profits.
Social spending too often leads to throwing money away on welfare mothers and their cognitively challenged offspring which yields higher crime rates and entitlement spending.
