Two years after the Missouri Republicans comments on rape, pregnancy and abortion doomed his campaign and fueled a war on women message that carried Democrats to victory in the Senate, one of the few regrets he mentions in a new book is the decision to air a campaign ad apologizing for his remarks.
By asking the public at large for forgiveness, Akin writes, I was validating the willful misinterpretation of what I had said.

Just more proof that this is a self serving cynical idiot - not ready for prime time, and not aware of his shortcomings. This book might sell 50 copies .
Please no.
I forgot who wrote it (maybe Jonah Goldberg), but somebody wrote that if you can’t make it that far on the Republican stage without learning how to answer a question about abortion, you don’t deserve to be on the stage.
Between this, and Coulter’s call for McDaniel to give it up, I am thoroughly depressed now.
The guy is a political doofus.
Sorry about that.
Not as big a doofus as those who continued to support him on his death dive all the way to the crater that was the McCaskill victory.
A gift that keeps on giving... to the liberals.
So the guy wrote a book. This article has much more to do with Politico’s attempt to resurrect the “War on Women” nonsense in advance of November’s elections than an obscure Missouri state politician.
I wonder what other failed Senate candidates from the last cycle get their book written about in Politico??
The guy proved himself to be a self-serving egotist. Exactly the kind of “Conservative” who makes it to Washington, becomes addicted to the fawning and fussing that happens to people on the social scene and goes full RINO because he’d rather sell out his constituents than have Liberals at cocktail parties mad with him.
And in that I think you basically find the jist of his book.
The man blew a slam dunk victory against one of the weakest candidates in history!! All because he doesn’t even understand basic biology!!
Akin wants back into politics and is trying to repair his reputation. He was criticizing Clinton a few weeks ago for having defended a rapist - one who committed 'legitimate rape' I assume. He's written this book. He really thinks he has a chance on running again for something and is trying to get back in the spotlight. He's just fooling himself.
And yet, many Freepers fell for him.
No, it's because he doesn't understand the wisdom we learned from the great philosopher Dirty Harry Callahan - "mans gotta know his limitations."
Akin doesn't.
What type of loser will even bother buying his book?
Please, just go away, Todd.
You haven’t the brains to come in out of the rain.
Everyone is talking about Clinton's book being a mega-flop. I think hers will be a monster hit by comparison.
