Russia is not doing a very good job lately in hiding its connections with separatists in the Donbas. Nadiya Savchenko, female officer of Ukrainian army's Aydar unit who was captured in Luhansk Oblast on June 17, was transferred to prison in Voronezh, a Russian city not far from the border with Ukraine, reported television news program TSN.
Savchenko is being suspected in the murder of Russian journalists while participating in Ukraines antiterrorist operation, though local prosecutors have not come up with an official accusation yet, the senior lieutenants Russian lawyer said. However, her younger sister Vira said that the Voronezh court is going to have a first hearing within this case on July 9.
I was aiming (a gun) at woods where shooting against us was coming from. I have no idea whether I hit anybody or not, Savchenko said in a June 19 interview with Moscow-based Komsomolskaya Pravda newspaper.

So - Ukranian rebels capture a Ukranian soldier in her own country and that soldier ends up on trial in Russia? Odd.
I thought the Russian journalists were killed by mortar fire.
She’s accused in helping by correcting artillery fire. Russians opened another Pandora box: there are swarms of Russian spies crawling in Ukraine under journalist credentials, guess who will become a bargain chip for exchange of prisoners? Not even mentioning some “diplomats”...
I wonder if they are busy removing the fire extinguishers in the Duma as we speak.
LOL—As if the Russians care about civilians.
She carries a really big gun...
Huh? where's your evidence that is the case?
In another related news she was identified as a Mi-24 navigator/weapon operator shot down a few days earlier.
I’ve read a press release from a Russian FBI and it is written that she is a member of an air force and a Mi-24 navigator/weapon operator. She was arrested on a Russian/Ukrainian border posing as an undocumented refugee from East Ukraine, later identifed as a person who provided Ukrainian Army the coordinates of slain reporters, arrested and charged with murder.
It is official Russian position.
As for a Canadian press they are reporting she is an airplane pilot of a Ukrainian airforce shotdown a few days earlier in Luhansk area and handed to the Russians by local militias. They claim she is a veteran of US-led coalition and served in Iraq.
I asked for evidence of actual “spying”, not Ukrainian accusations that Russian journalists are trying to cover events in their country despite the government’s ban on their doing so.
Try googling that.
I'm shocked I tell you. Shocked.
I’m not...
After the death of the Channel 1 guy, the Russians have been very clear about believing Kiev is personally targeting Russian Journos.
Now, the politics of it are a completely different matter, entirely.
