I remember, years ago, back in the bad old days a topless woman walking right down the middle of East 14th Street in Manhattan (it’s not a highway, but it’s a main, two way street), waving her arms up and down and babbling incoherently. It was broad daylight, I think it was maybe a Saturday morning.
Of course, this was NYC, and there were no cell phones in those days, I doubt anyone even called the cops.
I’m guessing the woman in this CA incident has some problems, but I’m not sure sitting on her and punching her in the face repeatedly is the correct response.
We can’t keep school children from illegally crossing our border, but our LEOs can beat the living heck out of every woman, crazy person and oldster.
Something is way out of whack in this country, and while Obama has introduced and maintained a very toxic atmosphere, I think the problems go well beyond him or his administration.
I agree with you and have thought the same thing - but I have yet to come up with a proper response. What should be done? Try and talk to her calmly (maybe he already tried that)? Call more back up? What then? If she still refuses, then what? Try and take her down? Still resisting? How many punches then are allowed? Tasing? Seems pretty severe....
The decision tree for most people would probably default to just letting her walk the damn highway - not worth the trouble, paperwork, and political fall-out, especially with all those cell phone cameras around. No one will miss a crazy women who is hit by a car. Sadly, that's how policing is done in the 3rd world, and that's where we are headed.
Are you truly not able to differentiate a busy multi-lane freeway with speed limits of 65 miles per hour and a street in Manhattan, nor the relative dangers to other lives of a human being in the middle of one or the other?

...but I’m NOT SURE sitting on her and punching her in the face REPEATEDLY IS THE CORRECT RESPONSE.
You are NOT SURE??? I’ll bet if she were a family member you’d get SURE instantaneously! Just how could you have any doubt?
