MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Memphis Police Director Toney Armstrong says 308 officers have called in sick in the last week and in what appears to be a deliberate work action.

Memphis is a major entitlement town with excessive crime. With over three hundred police out my bet is that the crime rate will not change. The corruption at the city government level rivals many African countries, Mugabe comes to mind.

Toney Armstrong has long been one of the regulars on “The First 48”...ain’t no shortage of homicides in Memphis, so he got a lot of facetime.

I live in Memphis, TN. The average policeman could have their salary doubled, and still be underpaid for what they are asked to do.

Another example of how public employees feel they should be exempt from a bad economy. It's also an example of people using what power they have when they get pushed too far. Rather than looking at the players here, consider it as a preview of disruptions to come as a result of Obamacare.

I live in Memphis, TN. Thanks for posting. I did not make this thread for cop bashing, which seems to be a big favorite here. Rather, here is an indication that a large piece of the Dems base (public sector workers) may be weakening.
