Fought with weapons? That happens every day, too, when freedom loving Americans peacefully carry open or concealed to ensure their freedom from being mugged, raped, and attacked by criminals.
It happened in Nevada, when weapons (unfired) held off the federal government, and helped to expose them.
A fight isn't always about lines of soldiers, in red and blue, or gray and blue, standing in Napoleonic lines and firing on one another.
It's about an attitude that says "Eff you. I'm a free man, and I'll stand up and back you down.
As a Texan, and an American, I have that history as an example to live up to.
The Russians didn't have that.

Okay, I meant when was the last time the U.S. citizenry fought the tyranny of their govt? I realize there are stories of people standing up to the govt but a true battle. One where blood is shed to show the tyranny of authoritarianism.
Amen to what you said about a Free man’s attitude.
“Ne mo impune lacessit “, a Scot’s motto.
“Live free or die” a motto from the Revolutionary War.
Both very apropos in these times.
