You are correct. We know very well what Stalin did to the former Soviet Union, and we're starting to find out just what Mao did to China. Some even way the high end estimate of 150 million dead from mass executions, forced exile, deliberate famine and ill-advised economic policies between 1928 and 1953 in the former Soviet Union and between 1949 and 1976 in China may be a conservative estimate.
