Sheriff Doug Gillespie’s term ends in January, 2015, and he did not run for reelection. The winner of the non-partisan primary is Assistant Sheriff Joe Lombardo.

During the Bundy attack, Lombardo was Gillespie’s mouthpiece to the media, but where he will stand on this when Gillespie is gone is unknown.
