The Army I saw over a 20 + year exposure has a great many people in the higher ranks who believe they are soldiers and leaders and are neither but they are in reality a species of uniformed bureaucrat. I dubbed them Milicrats and they are very common in the supporting arms. They are pseudo-soldiers and they love wearing BDU’s thousands of miles from any battlefield so they feel like they are some sort of Rambos of the air conditioned office or Patton of the Powerpoint Presentation. The sheer barefaced gall of the enemy to commence operations with an attack right on the homeland and targeted at the symbols of American economic might and the symbol of the armed services didn't produce barely contained rage and a frigid determination to do whatever to kill as many of the people who made the attacks possible as could be done. In reality many men and women with stars on their shoulders were stunned and demoralized by the attack. That tells you what these people are really made of.
