Happy Independence Day, everyone!!
Woo hoo!! Our 3rd quarter FReepathon is now underway!!
FR is funded solely by contributions made by liberty loving people like you who enjoy and use it.
We are beholden to no political party, no advertisers, no sugar daddies, no corporate string pullers, no government subsidies, no outside influences.
We are user-funded, fiercely independent and enjoy our freedom to speak openly and plainly in the support of liberty.
But we cannot exist without you.
If you have not yet made your donation, today would be an excellent day to do so.
Every donation counts no matter how big or small. If you can donate $5, $10, $20, $50, $100 or more, it would be greatly appreciated.
Your loyal support makes Free Republic possible and your continuing participation makes FR the number one, independent, pro-life, pro-family, pro-small government, pro-defense, grassroots conservative forum on the Net!!
And we're going to need FR now more than ever to combat the current crop of Marxists and progressives who have infested our government and public institutions and who are dead set on destroying the final remnants of our cherished constitution and our precious God-given liberty!!

Make it a monthly if you can. We have some very generous FReeper sponsors kicking in an extra ten bucks for every new monthly signed up. We already have 1 new monthly donor this quarter.
Or send in a hundred dollars or more per quarter and join I_be_tc's growing list of 300 Club patriots. I_be_tc sends in $100 per quarter and challenges 300 others to do the same. We have received 14 donations of $100 or more so far this quarter. If we could get 300 FReepers to send in $100 per quarter, these FReepathons would complete much faster.
Help keep freedom alive!!
Thank you all very much!!
God bless.
We have some hanging rain gutters. I haven’t gotten to look at other stuff as it just stopped raining a little while ago.
I don’t know how high the wind gusts were. Good enough to do a number on the front on our house though :)
One recent winter we had 3-4 feet of snow on the ground until spring. I have pics of it in my “winter” set of graphics. Back in the early 90s we had a low of -22 degrees. On my way to work, I saw broken down cars all over. They simply stopped running in the cold.
I guess so! :)
Good one!
"A little patience, and we shall see the reign of witches pass over, their spells dissolve, and the people, recovering their true sight, restore their government to its true principles.
It is true that in the meantime we are suffering deeply in spirit, and incurring the horrors of a war and long oppressions of enormous public debt.
If the game runs sometimes against us at home we must have patience till luck turns, and then we shall have an opportunity of winning back the principles we have lost,
for this is a game where principles are at stake."~Thomas Jefferson, June 1798
That’s about right! LOL!!!
I think it was the winter of 72-73 that we had 14 inches of snow. We had a 64 Pontiac with posi. Everybody where we lived waited for Hubby to track out the main drive so they could drive in his tracks. LOL
That’s determination! LOL!
Those were the days. :)
LOL!
Late last night we had some sprinkles. The real rain came this afternoon but still is not a frog strangler.

:) It's been raining here for hours.
"Since 1868, Seward, Nebraska has held a celebration on the same town square. In 1979 Seward was designated Americas Official Fourth of July City-Small Town USA by resolution of Congress. Seward has also been proclaimed Nebraskas Official Fourth of July City by Governor James Exon in proclamation. Seward is a town of 6,000 but swells to 40,000+ during the July 4 celebrations." source: Wikipedia
You got that right.
