Happy Independence Day, everyone!!
Woo hoo!! Our 3rd quarter FReepathon is now underway!!
FR is funded solely by contributions made by liberty loving people like you who enjoy and use it.
We are beholden to no political party, no advertisers, no sugar daddies, no corporate string pullers, no government subsidies, no outside influences.
We are user-funded, fiercely independent and enjoy our freedom to speak openly and plainly in the support of liberty.
But we cannot exist without you.
If you have not yet made your donation, today would be an excellent day to do so.
Every donation counts no matter how big or small. If you can donate $5, $10, $20, $50, $100 or more, it would be greatly appreciated.
Your loyal support makes Free Republic possible and your continuing participation makes FR the number one, independent, pro-life, pro-family, pro-small government, pro-defense, grassroots conservative forum on the Net!!
And we're going to need FR now more than ever to combat the current crop of Marxists and progressives who have infested our government and public institutions and who are dead set on destroying the final remnants of our cherished constitution and our precious God-given liberty!!
Please click the secure server link above or donate by mail to: Free Republic - PO Box 9771 - Fresno, CA 93794
Make it a monthly if you can. We have some very generous FReeper sponsors kicking in an extra ten bucks for every new monthly signed up. We already have 1 new monthly donor this quarter.
Or send in a hundred dollars or more per quarter and join I_be_tc's growing list of 300 Club patriots. I_be_tc sends in $100 per quarter and challenges 300 others to do the same. We have received 14 donations of $100 or more so far this quarter. If we could get 300 FReepers to send in $100 per quarter, these FReepathons would complete much faster.
Help keep freedom alive!!
Thank you all very much!!
God bless.

4th of July traditions:"The famous Macy's fireworks display usually held over the East River in New York City has been televised nationwide on NBC since 1976. In 2009, the fireworks display was returned to the Hudson River for the first time since 2000 to commemorate the 400th anniversary of Henry Hudson's exploration of that river."

It’s so dark that I’m going to have to turn on the lights. Thanks, Arthur.

"The national flag of the United States of America, often simply referred to as the American flag, consists of thirteen equal horizontal stripes of red (top and bottom) alternating with white, with a blue rectangle in the canton (referred to specifically as the "union") bearing fifty small, white, five-pointed stars arranged in nine offset horizontal rows of six stars (top and bottom) alternating with rows of five stars.
The 50 stars on the flag represent the 50 states of the United States of America and the 13 stripes represent the thirteen British colonies that declared independence from the Kingdom of Great Britain and became the first states in the Union. Nicknames for the flag include the "Stars and Stripes", "Old Glory", and "The Star-Spangled Banner" (also the name of the national anthem)." source: Wikipedia

Weather is cyclical. People forget the couple of odd years. That’s how the alarmists get away with their BS.

The wind yesterday has our front soffets loose and sagging.
I need to fix that tomorrow as soon as I borrow my drill back from a daughter. :)

Yes. Some years we have -22 degree days in winter, and other years we have plants blooming in January.
