Dallas County names three potential sites to house 2,000 undocumented kids

Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins named three possible sites Thursday to house 2,000 immigrant children he expects to arrive this month, and reactions from residents in the potential areas ranged from miffed to supportive.

The three sites — D.A. Hulcy Middle School in the Red Bird area, an alternative education building in Grand Prairie and a Parkland Memorial Hospital warehouse — are those the county thinks “are the most viable to accommodate the children,” Jenkins said.

“I hope as we deal with the community and move forward, the community will keep in mind this is about compassion to children, and here in North Texas we don’t turn our back on children,” Jenkins said at a news conference Thursday afternoon.

Texas has been the main entry point for the more than 50,000 children who’ve come illegally to the U.S., many without adults, from Central American countries torn by political strife and gang violence.

On Saturday, in a speech to the Texas Democratic Convention, Jenkins announced efforts to bring up to 2,000 of those unaccompanied children to Dallas County shelters. They would be housed until they can be released to relatives in the U.S. or placed in foster care while their immigration status is reviewed. Reactions to the announcement ranged from outrage to enthusiasm.

They are NOT “undocumented immigrants” - they are ILLEGAL ALIENS. Calling them undocumented immigrants is like calling shoplifting an “undocumented purchase.”

For anybody in the area: Are Murrieta-style protests being planned?

Why not send a bus load or two directly to the White House and let the hypocrite odumbo turn them aside?

Perhaps they might bring a plague of some sort and solve a whole lot of our problems.

I'm in Tarrant county now, but I'd attend one. I'm not in a position to plan a protest in Dallas county.

I understand Johnny. I’m in Ohio, so I don’t know what’s going on there. We can’t rely on the MSM, so I’d like to hear from our boots on the ground.

At the end of summer we will hear a tremendous amount of squawking about schools around the country that have been left trashed and damaged by the feds and their mobs of illegals.

He's a County Judge (Not a real judge, an administrator, sorta like a councilman at the county level). So he does have some authority in Dallas County.

When Democrats are elected, they sure do.

The trouble is that when we elect Republicans, there are no reverse consequences.

The Australians have set up facilities offshore in the South Pacific islands for folks like these when they arrive.

So who is picking up the tab for this gracious hospitality? It won’t be cheap feeding 2000 kids three squares per day. In Arizona counties, when funds run short, money is extorted from property owners. I have been advised that my property tax will soon triple. I guess that is the redistribution of wealth thing.

Dallas sucks. I hate it more every time I have to drive through there.

US 75 has been in perpetual construction for almost THREE decades. I don’t see how truck drivers manage. The lanes are insufferably narrow and the whole pathway is lined with concrete barriers.

Dallas is full of nuts.

Texas will no longer be conservative soon. The cities like Dallas, Houston, Austin and San Antonio will see to that. Ft. Worthless is another mecca of liberal insanity. Affluenza anyone?
