When I was unfortunate enough to live in the liberal cesspool of New York city a few years ago, I actually saw some libtards holding a party called “Celebration day”. They actually had a banner down in the village on July 4th calling it “Celebration day”.

Liberals like to change the names of things or holidays which offend them.

Columbus Day is called Indigenous People’s Day in some liberal places. They can’t bear to celebrate Columbus discovering America. Instead they want to celebrate Indian peoples on that day.

We know how liberals don’t want to say “Christmas”, and have deleted the name of Christmas from many Christmas oriented holiday celebrations.

Some liberals have taken to changing the name of Thanksgiving to “Turkey Day”. Such liberals are offended because Thanksgiving is a religious term, the idea that one gives thanks to God offends them. And, also liberals want to drive home the points of having stolen America from Indians, yadda, yadda, yadda, so we can’t talk about Thanksgiving.

I think we’re still allowed to call Memorial Day by that name, though the meaning of a memorial day is lost on most people. Ditto Labor Day is called by its proper name, but again, I think many people don’t understand how that holiday came to be. Martin Luther King’s birthday is perhaps the most solemn holiday for the liberal types.

Though not a holiday, I’m frustrated that Obama and others want to commemorate Sept. 11th by making it a day of service to others. While service to others is commendable, what does service to others have to do with marking the anniversary of a savage attack on our country?
