Thursday night was no celebration for Ithaca Police, who responded to multiple reports of violence throughout the city.
At around 12:06 a.m. Friday, Ithaca Police responded to a report of a 25-year-old Ithaca man who was severely beaten with a baseball bat in the city....
At around 12:15 a.m. that same night, police were called to the Holiday Inn on Cayuga Street to respond to a physical dispute...
Later that night, just after 1:30 a.m., Ithaca Police got a report of shots fired in the 600 block of Chestnut Street.
Police say two people were driving when a person shot at them as they passed. The shooter then got into a car and chased after them, continuing to fire the weapon as they drove westbound through the city.
Attempting to escape gunfire, they crashed their car on the 700 block of Elm Street Extension, at which point the suspect fled the scene.

Sad. Ithaca is a beautiful city (in the natural sense) in a beautiful region (the Finger Lakes) with a lot of decent people living in the surrounding towns and villages. A leftist tumor.
Yes, it is. My daughter went to college there. I don’t recall it being dangerous.
Alas--Leftist tumors are rarely benign.
On the north end of the lake next door, Geneva is suffering the same plight. Diversity is our strength.
“At around 12:06 a.m. Friday, Ithaca Police responded to a report of a 25-year-old Ithaca man who was severely beaten with a baseball bat in the city.
Police say the man was assaulted on Chestnut Street by at least three people who struck him with a baseball bat multiple times, causing injuries to his head, neck and torso, according to Lt. Scott Garin with the Ithaca Police Department.
The victim was described to be on life support after the attack.”
A classic MO of black on white racially motivated violence. But then Ithica is so PC that the corrupt local media will probably never identify the race of the perps and victim
if our HS played a basketball game against Ithaca or Elmira...both small cities...in the back of your mind was the thought that the blacks there were violent....that was 45 yrs ago.....
and yet they'l have their diversity panels, and the peace and justice leagues out there talking about discrimation and how rough the blacks have it...right....
Actually, given the location, and the fact that there were shots in the same location shortly thereafter, I suspect this had very little to do with race and more to do with drug deals gone wrong. Chestnut Street has a very high concentration of low income housing projects
