SF Chronicle Blames Breitbart for Drawing Media's Attention to Border Crisis

The San Francisco Chronicle has blamed Breitbart News for drawing the national media's attention to the crisis of unaccompanied minors from Central America crossing the southern border by the tens of thousands.

In an op-ed published by the Chronicle Wednesday calling for "a more humane immigration policy," David Bacon blamed Breitbart's exposé for creating the impression that children were being sent to the U.S. in anticipation of being allowed to stay.

Bacon correctly noted that Breitbart News broke the story of the conditions in which the children were being held by U.S. Border Patrol, and singled out Brandon Darby of Breitbart Texas for credit--and calumny:

This coverage began when a website, breitbart.com, published photographs leaked from the Border Patrol and guards in detention centers, showing immigrant children packed together like animals....

The original breitbart.com story was written by Brandon Darby, a former FBI informant turned blogger.

Bacon went on to describe how Darby's scoop was picked up by "anti-immigrant" bloggers, then worked its way up the political chain to Republican governors and members of Congress.

The op-ed failed, however, to note that the Breitbart story was also picked up by the left-wing Huffington Post, which led with Darby's images on June 6. Other mainstream media outlets, both print and electronic, also followed up Breitbart's story.

In America today, it is considered to be a greater moral infraction for HONEST reporting to be delivered to the wider audience, than to conceal and divert attention from anything that may reflect in the least way a negative view of the Politically Correct version of the world.

“Importance” of the news is a relative thing, partly determined by the distance the events are from one’s personal involvement. This business of the undocumented children flooding over our southern border has become a very real and direct thing at hundreds of localities around the territory once known as “the United States of America”.

This is all coming home to a LOT of people, and not in a positive way.

Exactly. Dump 1,000 illegals a week at Fisherman’s Wharf.

Yep, the folks on the border never would have figured it out without Breitbart. We’re all idiots out here in flyover...

in spite of the MSM blackout about the event...

The most obnoxious element of the whole sordid mess is the revelation that Obama Hussein and his flying monkeys made plans for the entire future narrative of tens of thousands of children streaming over the border back in January 2013!

and I haven't seen anyone here or in most places even talking about that!

Unexpected indeed!

Obama claims he only learns about crises that his administration should have prevented by reading about them in the paper.

So, unless Breitbart.com had alerted the president by exposing the illegal children’s border crossings so that other newspapers could pick up the story, Obama would still not know what was going on, and he wouldn’t have been able to go before the American people and lie that he was doing something about it.

However, unlike the Veterans’ fiasco, for example, which Obama also promised to do something about, the continuing arrival of busloads of sick children into communities that don’t have the resources to cope with them cannot be hidden. So Obama will have to do something, but what?

Send all the disease ridden illegals to S.F. It’s already a pitri dish there anyway.

I wince, every time I see totally justified comments about the city of my youth.
It was a difference city, then, between 1948 and 1965...

The implication is that, if we didn’t know about it, it wouldn’t be a crisis. And, further, that the diseases now rampant among the illegals could spread to the country at large without publicity. Gotta love the liberal mindset, and the most transparent administration in US history.

They don’t like someone publishing the truth that they’re trying to conceal.

The Obama administration and its house organ MSM are festering, syphilitic, anal chancres.
And sunshine is the best disinfectant. Or something else profound. You know what I mean.
