JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) - Call it what you want , illegal activity or a political game; the fallout is the same as the blows are still coming in the Republican Senate race.
Pictures of text messages and an audio recording were posted on the new web site "Got News" Monday night. It alleges vote buying by Thad Cochran's campaign.
Stevie Fielder is the Meridian man at the center of the vote buying allegations against Thad Cochran's campaign. We tried several numbers listed for him and the church where the online story says he is a reverend. No one answered at any of the numbers.
When asked about Fielder, Robert Markham, one of the deacons at First Union Missionary Baptist Church, told us he is not an associate pastor there, and he would not do business with him.
But the communication director for Cochran's campaign says they did have a business deal with Fielder.
"Mr. Fielder was paid a small amount of money, $300 to reimbursements for his vehicles that he was using to transport get out the vote efforts," explained communications director Jordan Russell.
Fielder didn't get the other $300 because he stopped campaigning. So, he started calling Cochran's office, demanding money.

You jest, but perhaps Thad is as much of a puppet as Barack.
And political puppets are never a good thing. A puppet can’t choose God. It is tied by its strings.
What I am urging is what the bible urges: “Leave room” for the wrath of God. If you try to BE that wrath, absent some very firm framework of law, you probably will muff it.
There was no ‘leave room’ where I was raised.
Vengeance is mine, sayeth the Lord. I wait and watch for verification of this, so I can finally rest and be happy again.
That merely shows you were raised in a region of hell. That does not change God’s word, which remains “Leave room.”
I'm waiting for his Senate colleagues to send him to sleep with the fishes. Their only hope to get out of this mess is a sympathy vote. Lord knows he's old enough, be a hell of a lot easier than some young guy like Andrew Breitbart.
It might not be all that hard for them to persuade him to go gently into the good night with his new sweetie, should they agree.
Remember what I said on the other thread about how Cochran will claim the envelopes of money were for GOTV workers?
Back to the Reverend. He and anyone he authorized to hand out money for votes would be considered GOTV workers. So to cover their tails, all Cochran and Staff have to do is deny that they did anything other than pay GOTV workers. Their campaign cash-out expenses will show only the amounts paid to GOTV workers. The money that went to individual voters will not show up anywhere. That money came from other people/accounts.That's what he's saying now:
Russell says they're for campaign workers and are in line with the law.Exactly what I said they'd say. Punks. They're not fooling anyone."It's $25 dollars a shift and it's paid in an envelope," Russell said. "The reason that we would need the name and address is so that we can report all of our disbursements to the FEC."
Like Frank in the Godfather, they might 'take care' of his sweetie if he should decide to bow out. I'm sure there's lots of ways to handle that and I'm sure they know them all.
If the pastor isn’t careful someone will do a Vince Foster on him. I’d be afraid if I were him.
This cancel by doubt will be one of their tactics. We dont have to prove that we have 7,000 [invalid] votes . all there needs to be is enough doubt about the election, and were confident about that, he said.
That cancel by doubt strategy gives the McDaniel campaign an incentive to collect evidence about possible vote-buying and other potentially unethical behavior by Cochrans campaign.
So far, there are many reports about shady outreach to Democratic voters supposedly undertaken by Cochran and his allies, particularly done by relatives of former Gov. Haley Barbour.
For example, The Daily Caller reported that Henry Barbour, the head of the Mississippi Conservatives PAC and the nephew of Haley Barbour, paid Democratic operative Mitzi Bickers to make paid calls to potential Cochran supporters. Those calls may have spurred many loyal Democrats to cast invalid votes.
In the search for improper votes, GOP officials who are affiliated with Cochrans campaign are trying to block McDaniels search for invalidated votes that are recorded in the poll books, Fritsch said.
Theyre stalling in at least half of the counties across the state, he said.
Some are asking for large fees, and throwing up every roadblock you can imagine to stop us from seeing the poll books, Fristch stated.
That resistance tells us they dont want us to see the poll books, he added.
I believe it is obstruction of justice for the GOPe and the dems to keep the poll books from McDaniel's people.
The republican party is really showing their ass (ironic isn't it that the dems' symbol is an ass...) and even with the MSN playing rip van winkle voters are going to see how corrupt the GOP is, and that they will use fraud and law breaking to get their way to counter those that believe in our Constitutional Republic.
There is more at the link if you want to wade through faux Conservative Tucker's site full of popups, ads and ads disguised as "news" stories.
Why they would have any rational motive to avenge themselves upon said sweetie is beyond me. If she keeps him content and out of trouble with the barnyard animals, while out of politics, everybody is happy. It’s when people are unhappy that they go out of their way. And he might have a song or two to sing if he gets aggravated enough to do it.
Certainly it is a dilemma for the MSM. Beat up on a Republican when they have a chance, but then it could help the Tea Party win.
MS Election Code - 23-15-165Last week one of the clerks told a volunteer to come back on Wed. when she (the clerk) had had time to redact the necessary data. It's Wednesday! We'll see what happens later today.
6(b) Copies of statewide, district, county or municipal voter registration files, excluding social security numbers, telephone numbers and date of birth and age information, shall be provided to any person in accordance with the Mississippi Public Records Act of 1983 at a cost not to exceed the actual cost of production.
(I emailed Mcdanielvolunteer@tynerlawfirm.com. I'll let you know what they say.)
