That isn't how these scumbags work. They plant bombs. They light forest fires. They poison wells. They attack when the person's back is turned and doesn't see it coming. They kidnap kids. They drive cars into groups of people walking.
Guns are fine. We should all be armed. It won't stop what they are planning. :(
