Megyn Kelly to Bill Ayers: Sounds like bin Laden
Politico ^ | July 1, 2014 | SARAH SMITH

Posted on 07/01/2014 6:25:30 AM PDT by Second Amendment First

Fox News host Megyn Kelly had a heated interview with former Weather Underground member Bill Ayers about his past actions as part of the radical group.

“You sound like — with respect — Osama bin Laden,” Kelly said to Ayers, cutting him off as he tried to justify the Weather Underground’s violent actions by pointing out what he said was violence committed by the government.

Kelly grilled Ayers, who rose to national prominence during the 2008 presidential campaign when questions arose about his contact with Barack Obama, on the activities she linked to the Weather Underground during the 1960s and 1970s, some of which — like the killing of a San Francisco policeman — Ayers fiercely denied had anything to do with the Weather Underground.

“I think Bowe Bergdahl, if he deserted, is a hero,” Ayers said, likening it to those who fled to Canada during the Vietnam War. “I think throughout history we should build monuments to the unknown deserters.”

Ayers maintained that most of the group’s activities centered around property destruction — illegal, but not deadly.

“It’s not about legality,” Kelly said. “You could have murdered somebody with those bombs.”

“The people who were conducting the war in Vietnam actually murdered people,” Ayers began.

Kelly cut him off.

“The answer is to make yourself a murderer as well?” she asked.

The feds blew their case against Ayers and Dorn by use of an illegal wiretap to gather evidence. When the two of them surrendered to authorities, they fulled expected to spend decades in jail, but (instead) discovered they would never be punished. “Guilty as sin, free as a bird,” was Ayers’ famous comment.

An important footnote: while the feds had to drop their case, the state of Illinois still had the authority to prosecute Ayers and Dorn for Weather Underground crimes committed in that state. The state’s attorney who decided not to file charges? None other than Richard M. Daley, son of “Da Mare” and a future Chicago mayor himself. Daley’s father and Ayer’s father (chairman of Commonwealth Edison) were close.

The elder Daley turned to Ayers to negotiate with black radicals in the wake of race riots in the late 60s, promising fair housing laws without really delivering. Mayor Daley famously remarked that Tom Ayers could talk out of both sides of his mouth and make both groups believe he was working in their interest. So, the Daley family owed Tom Ayers a favor, and they returned it by not prosecuting his terrorist son and daughter-in-law.

From there, it was just a hop, skip and jump to Columbia University where Bill Ayers knocked out a master’s and PhD
in education, at the same time Barry Soerto was an undergrad. Then on to a state school in Illinois and a professorship, while Dorn joined the law faculty at Northwestern. Meanwhile, Tom Ayers was providing a boost to a former community organizer who would launch his political career in Bill Ayers’s living room.

Just connect the dots. Pretty amazing for two 60s’ radicals who should still be in prison.

Just curious as to why he even consented to the interview.

Guys like him really believe they are smarter than everyone else and that they are especially smarter than women. It's a new generation, Bill. Women like Megyn really are empowered.

“The Weathermen were responsible for four deaths. Weathermen Cathy Wilkerson and Susan Saxe were part of the gang that shot Boston policeman Walter Schroeder in the back during a bank robbery in Brighton (a section of Boston) Massachusetts in 1970.”

I went to high school with one of Schroeder’s siblings.

He left NINE kids.

Those so called peace activists were animals.

He did murder people. 5 people killed in bank robberies. He himself created a bomb designed to kill 300 soldiers at an Army dance. It would have been the biggest terrorist attack next to 9/11.

Luckily the bomb went off and killed his then girlfriend and several other terrorists. He adapted the girlfriends son who helped Hugo Chavez in Venezuela to destroy that country.

obama worked with Bill Ayers for 3 years in the same office. He has been friends for decades with the mass murderer. Ayers wife used a bomb to murder a police officer and wound 11 others. Eric Holder has blocked the re-opening of the case saying the feds will look into it. He did this as soon as obama got into office.

Nice writeup, you have done that before (screen name noted) -

One question - With the illegal wiretap does that just spoil *that* evidence or does it spoil the whole case and all evidence?

Connections and reluctance is one thing - legal inability to charge is another.

Best,

3
