One week after traveling to Mississippi to do his utmost to help Senator Thad Cochran (R) beat Tea Party rival Chris McDaniel, Senator John McCain (R-AZ) talked about the strengths he saw in Cochran's approach to campaigning.
According to AZ Central, McCain dismissed criticism over the tactics the Republican Establishment used to get black Democrats to cross over and vote for Cochran.
Said McCain, "There are some people complaining that African-American voters voted. [But] I thought one of the major priorities of the Republican Party was to get all minority and ethnic voters out to vote for Republicans."
He described Cochran's "get-out-the-vote campaign" as "excellent," then talked about how he will face similar circumstances in Arizona and needs to work equally as hard if he runs again. "The key is you'd better pay attention, you'd better work hard, you'd better organize." He added, "And you'd better understand that there's a strong anti-Washington/anti-incumbency sentiment out there, which is justified and you've got your work cut out for you."

No more lesser of two evils.
But if you’re going to fight a war, you have to stake out your position and draw a line in the sand.
I say McDaniel is the line. He has already proven there was massive voter fraud, help him challenge the election. Help get conservatives on board for a national effort.
And if he can’t challenge it for some reason, get behind an Independent run for him. I’m telling you, now or never.
We let them get by with this and we’re toast. Even if the Tea Party or others are still trying to play politics, we’ll all be done if we can’t even right one wrong.
could someone please push him in front of a bus?
A new conservative party is the only answer. Mississippi’s corruptive voting antics on the part of the elitists, global one-world order people, have made the Republican history! They killed it! And, don’t come asking me if I want the Democrats to keep control again. Mr. Barbour, you can take full blame if that happens.
The GOPe/RINOs and others have great fear of the power of the TEA party don’t they? They are doing everything they can to continue hood-winking people into voting for their worthless selves.
Joe’s too old.
Sorry Johnny Boy, it only works in primaries. In the general election, Cochran is going to get his clock cleaned by the same ***holes who voted for him in the primary. It’s not only NOT “worth emulating”, it isn’t very bright either.
Maybe the conservatives in MS can lead the way and form the Freedom Party (a name suggested by Sarah Palin I recall)
exactly
J.D. Hayworth tried that and McCain poured $20 million plus of his personal funds into defeating Hayworth in the primary.
Wonder how much he got for his soul?
Those same voters will be voting Democrat in the General election and TC is going to lose.
Oh darn!
Is there someone else?
No. We're complaining that DEMOCRATS voted. Twice. Juan McCain has never been the sharpest knife in the drawer.
Evidently not you.
Unscientific poll (you can't say both!)- Is this McCain being a total dickhead, or a clueless meathead in this situation. I mean, does he really think it's a good idea for a mainstream Republican to call Tea Party Republican voters racists, etc. or is just old and dumb and out of touch and thinks Cochran is just mavericky?
Pick one!
I'll vote first - he's a clueless meathead here.
Not one dime’s worth of difference.
McCain and the GOPe are cutting their own throats. Many tea party people still vote for them as the lesser of two evils, but as that margin gets slimmer it’s bound to be less likely in the future.
That was then, this is now. If I'm not mistaken, McCain is the most unpopular Senator of the bunch.
I'm glad he lost. If he had won, I would have been to blame for all the garbage he perpetrated on the U.S. and the Republican party because I voted for it.
We will ONLY start cleaning this country up when we SHATTER the illusion of voting "against." We have been voting "against" for decades and the reason it has failed is because voting "against" is imaginary, rationalization, wishful thinking. It's like hunting unicorns: your prey will ALWAYS be elusive because it is PRETEND.
