Well, Katie Couric in keeping with her place in the mainstream media establishment did leave out the blood thirsty details of the Sunni vs Shiite schism:
This blood feud dates from the beginning of Islam, a tribe that would later be Sunni’s from Syria beheaded Mohammed’s grandson (the Mohammed) and brought his head to Damascus as a trophy to display on a wall.
Sunni’s broke the blood line of the prophet, this is why zealous Shiites will kill Syrian Sunni’s with zeal, as Iranians Quds Forces and Hezzbulah are doing right now in Syria. It dates back to the four caliph, under the fourth successor to Mohammed, Mohammed’s cousin...also his son-in-law. Mohammed’s cousin married Mohammed’s daughter Fatima, their son and heir to the Islamic caliphate was killed by a tribe from present day Syria who would later identify as Sunni.
This isn’t a “disagreement” as Katie Couric so delicately put it, it’s Muslim barbarism and blood feuding.
Katie probably feels she has to put it delicately or they might demand her head. But in a way I agree, it was a disagreement; only with those people they solve ‘disagreements’ by killing & beheading each other - sorta a more ‘direct’ approach to conflict resolution. ;)
