Rules for thee, not for me. I’ve seen above the rules behavior from officers quite often, especially pilots. This goes beyond petty stuff like grooming standards, customs and courtesies, or other things that don’t make sense for the SF community down range. Anyone over E-7 seems to be a political animal these days, I do not like or trust 95% of these people. Too many people have been screwed because some Master is trying to make Senior, or Senior is trying to make Chief.

Isn’t it kind of foolish to put pictures of your team out for the whole world to see?

My squadron commander and his senior staff had alcohol at parties in their quarters during a military exercise in which the commander himself invoked “General Order #1.”

Later, one of his staff brought me two junior NCOs and told me to read them their rights and take their statement. They got caught with a six pack.

I walked up to the Commander and said “I don't do hypocrisy.” I was never overtly “punished” but it hurt my career. At least I could respect myself.
