One thing I learned is that in Australia, Anthony's Weiner is politely referred to as "wedding tackle."

I think they’ve mixed up their “Star Trek” and “Star Wars” references.

Ferengi Rules Of Acquisition Top Ten:
1. Once you have their money, never give it back
2. You can't cheat an honest customer, but it never hurts to try
3. Never spend more for an acquisition than you have to
4. Sex and profit are the two things that never last long enough
5. If you can't break a contract, bend it
6. Never let family stand in the way of opportunity
7. Always keep you ears open
8. Keep count of your change
9. Instinct plus opportunity equals profit
10. A dead customer can't buy as much as a live one

Starting to suspect that Al Gore has some very expensive bad habits.

Exactly, and organizations like “Mining Magnate Alliance” are found in “Star Wars” I-III.

In the great DS9 episode entitled, “Little Green Men” , Quark the Ferengi comes to Earth circa 1949 (or thereabouts), looks around, and states, “In a year I’ll be running this planet!”
He succeeded!!
(for those who may not have seen the episode, the Star Trek DS9 characters get caught in a time warp and end up at Roswell, NM, and Star Trek does a wonderfully funny take on the whole “UFO coverup” scenario)!!!

He has a coastal mega-mansion with a huge environmental footprint.

If you hadn’t told me, I would have never made the connection of a mining magnate alliance with Star Wars. Complete a memory of something like that it is not.

I have four young sons. They watch “The Clone Wars” cartoon series -and then yammer about it, endlessly - so my mind is full of idiotic “Star Wars” detail.

Gore’s not a Ferengi. Everybody knows that they are at least competent in business. Gore is from the ice planet Hoth.

Algore seen here celebrating just after reading the most recent IPCC report. He immediately went from here to the 5,000 square foot money counting house and vault addition to his $20 million California mansion.
