At the time, we were not permanently stationed in their country. We are guests in Bahrain. I know a lot of Sailors love being stationed there.
US soldiers werent garrisoned in Germany prior to WWII. US embassy staff and nationals in Germany prior to WWII were still subject to the laws of Germany, Nazi party or no.
