Nafta requires Canada to export a fixed proportion of it’s production to the U.S.. End of Story. The number is about 60%

Looks like Canada may be screwed unless they can produce lots of crude really quick.

Thanks for clarifying....I thought the Canada NAFTA quota was 2/3. 60% still quite substantial.

And I thought NAFTA was for Free Trade....so much for that

Regardless, Canada is getting ripped off. They should sue in NAFTA court

There are a few hoops to jump through before they get the pipeline to Kitimat.
It will take a lot of grease to local tribes and an enormous construction budget...
