A shooting at the School of Communications building at the University of Miami has resulted in attempted murder and other charges against a man who identifies as a woman.
According to Coral Gables Police, Yasmien Love, 25, went to the School of Communications building Friday with the intent to kill her ex and also kill herself. Police said Love went to the victim’s office with a loaded gun and waited until he arrived at his office.

People really need to get the definitions ‘sex’ and ‘gender’ straight!
I remember when pronouns helped identify which person was being referenced. We may have to do away with pronouns and always use the proper nouns to make such articles readable.

You are correct, they are put in a prison which conforms to their actual gender, and then often end up in protective segregation. They usually are put in “seg” not because of their appearance (most prisons do not allow prisoners to simulate the appearance of the other sex for obvious reasons) but because they quite often become sexually promiscuous. This has both custody/security concerns as well as health concerns. Speaking anecdotally, most of the ones I’ve had to deal with are a real headache and end up in long term isolation because they simply refuse to be managed within the prison environment.

When I was growing up in the ‘40s and ‘50s, there was none of this “identifying” as a member of the opposite sex to which one was born. I wonder why? I suppose it’s because I lived in normal times in which people were not allowed to act in a crazy fashion. We had standards then, if you will. Today? Anything goes.
