Lois Lerner has no records of two years of missing emails and Republican claims that shes hiding something are silly, her lawyer said in his first interview since the controversy around the former IRS official erupted two weeks ago.
She doesnt know what happened, lawyer William Taylor III said of the 2011 computer crash that erased two years worth of Lerners correspondence. Its a little brazen to think she did this on purpose.

Okay, she lost emails; no one mentioned this computer hard drive crash until now; it is difficult to imagine a situation where ALL copies of a given email are irrevocably lost; six cronies also, coincidentally, lost their hard drives; she invoked the 5th amendment; there has been much foot-dragging and they are playing political games by trying to blame everything on evil "Republican claims". No Mr. Lawyer, "silly" is not the adjective that I would use to describe this situation.
“Sexy”. . .Sexy to maybe to the cross-dressing transgender, bi-curious. . .but hey, nothing wrong with that. . .
Non starter, of course she isn't bright enough to crash the computer (hard drive), let alone reformat it in all likelihood. She had Obama IT goons due it for her. Not that it matters as a local hard drive isn't the primary location for archival storage.
Not necessarily correct. It depends on one's email configuration. A person can pull emails off the exchange server and move to their computer and the emails are gone from the server. Gone. I do it every day. Before I started backing up my own .pst files I had a hard disk crash and lost a lot of email. All email on the server reappeared but not emails that had been previously moved to my PC. Those emails were no longer on the exchange server.
What may be missing are emails moved to her personal computer off the server. However they have never really explained how her email was configured.
Now ... email servers are backed up every day. The emails would exist on backups. However I am not sure how long they keep the backups and whether emails for a period so long ago are even available right now. One would think so since this is the IRS after all and we are talking about a Director at the IRS.
Brazen? That sounds like projection, no?
And I suppose it’s just a coincidence that all the other hacks around her lost their hard drives at the same time too?
Well almost but not quite. Lotte Lenya even while acting the part of the evil Rosa Klebb couldn’t totally lose the trace a sad or compassionate core.
Lerner on the other hand....
Well that makes it OK, then.

Funny, her attorney came up with these comments one day after it looks as if some judge will render a decision regarding the potential this needs a special prosecutor. IOW, this is an attempt to alter the decision without actually saying anything of the official record under oath.
Lerner headed a 900+ person department. How many assistant dept heads, admin assistants, and secretaries read and filtered her e-mails, snail mail, reports, memos, telephone logs, and the rest of the paperwork that leviathan requires to function. Copies of all relevant documents are sitting in plain sight in those offices or have already been copied in defensive moves by the career civil servants in her unit. The first defense, “it was some people in st. Louis that done the dirty deed.” That let everyone know that they were potential fish food.
Start with the departments internal phone book, id the the people on the periphery, their work flow, what they handled, document procedures and so on up the various chains of command.
Who handled Lerner’s calendar, paper or e-docs, meeting schedules, meeting memos. All this is published in some form or another and sits in multiple places. Participants and recipients, all have their own chains of comms and docs.
All of this on top of the IT logs, trouble tickets, vendor contacts.
Give me authority, 20 retired FBI document specialists, a platoon or two of techs, side-arms, and crates of pre-signed warrants, subpoenas and I run through that department like a chain saw through ice cream.
Someone needs to be patriotic and be the whistleblower for liberty. I can not believe the entire bunch at the IRS has no conscience or no ethics at all. There has to be a real AMERICAN there SOMEWHERE, right?
I'm really, really, really getting sick of the defeatists and "concern trolls" around here. Geez.

He represented Dominique Strauss-Kahn, who got in trouble a couple of years ago, involving a hotel maid in New York.
Except for the authority I wouldn’t need any of that other stuff. Within the gummint there is NO authority to not answer questions of an investigating officer. The fifth amendment doesn’t apply to official business matters. No one, repeat NO ONE, had/has the right or prerogative to withold info when a gummint matter is being investigated. In a former life I occasionally audited nuclear facilities/incidents/problems. Anyone who fails to respond fully and as accurately as possible would be gone before the day was over, last paycheck in hand, and might be talking to a US Attorney first thing Monday morning.
Remember awhile back there was a brief story about how Lerner was indeed talking to investigators within the IRS——she knew she had to.
Too many people, including congresscritters, just don’t know the law or rules that apply. Someplace in the world there is an Inspector General who should be doing all the Lerner Lifting. And if that person is not performing there should be a US Marshall knocking on his door.
The risk, of course, in all this, especially to the gummint, is that regular folks get the idea that they don’t have to respond to gummint requests for anything: info, money, taxes, court dates, etc. The Kenyan has to be just hoping he can get past November with his skin on, after which his buss will be rolling over all his embarrassing acolytes.
I there are sinister forces a play here. It would not be farfetched to think that some FBI or CIA or the same guy who forged Obama’s birth certificate, in the dead of night conveniently destroyed her hard drive...so she could play dumb about it. But here’s the deal.
1. Ms Lerner, tell us who you emailed during this time, and for that matter who you didn’t email?
2. I keep my emails on the service. I NEVER download them to my computer, however at what time, I downloaded them. When I did that, wouldn’t they then disappear from the server sight/
3. They used a back up company, once they canceled the service, then that company destroys all the back ups? Ms Lerner, are you saying you NEVER backed up your computer?
4. Issa should grant immunity to EVERYONE working around this woman, who obviously has been drunk with power over the years.
5. I pray, that the IRS is completely dissolved and our tax laws are simplified ending in our taxes being reduced. We have the highest corporate taxes yet the lowest in tax revenues. States where is no income tax, or lower tax rates take in more money. Go figure. If I paid little to know taxes, I would spend the money or save it or both.
6. HOw about a National Tax HOliday. No income taxes are pad for one year.
Yes, the question is why Republicans continue to say the they are lost because of a local hard disk crash! Either they are stupid beyond belief or they are also in on the problem!
Even the stupidest of us realize that emails are not only on the local hard drive so what gives here?
Are the Republicans in on this and think that most of us are ignorant about how all of this works?
