The slow movement is in E-flat, 4/4, and is marked andante. What is spooky is that parts of it sound like Gershwin and even feel like Gershwin on the fingers if youre a pianist. But George was only toddler in 1901, so it has to be a coincidence.
This is one of Sergeis great melodies; its only four pages, but its four pages of beauty. At 4:40, Sergei sums up in a short coda that never fails to turn my screen blurry. Its sheer bliss.
