Democrats were crossing their fingers that Chris McDaniel would be the Republican nominee in Mississippi.
But since Sen. Thad Cochran has prevailed, they are trying to do the unthinkable unseat a six-term GOP senator.
McDaniel supporters are irate that Cochran won a GOP primary by reaching across the aisle. Now some of his backers are ambivalent about whether theyll come out at all in November and if they dont, that could create a rare opening for a Democrat here.

Re: Your Post #23: You keep talking about this McGinnis guy. Who is he and what is his role in this? Can all of this be substantiated as Truth? Dear God, I pray that this Election will be overturned.

We now know for a fact Connie Cochran asks them to switch the books.

That is great news Viennacon, but, can it be proven? Has Law Enforcement been given any proof of this? Please answer yes; at least to question #1.

What this really looks like is the best shot the TEA Party ever had of picking up a major win a three-way split. Dems regularly get a third of the vote in MS, I've read. Cochran can't get half of the Republican vote. A write-in campaign for McDaniels in MS has a better chance than Murkowski had in AK.
YES! YES! YES! I've been saying the same thing. If Chris can get on the ballot in November, he will be the next U.S. Senator from Mississippi.

I am not a big fan of the DC GOP establishment, but its better than Reid and the democraps. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Well KC, sometimes you just have to stand for principle. What you suggest, my friend, is like an abused wife saying: "Yeah, my husband beats the hell out of me at least two times a week, but, I'm gonna stick with him, and let him get away with it, and even support him as a faithful wife, because he's not as bad as my friends husband who is good to her, but he beats up other men's wives."
BTW, KC, MO is my fave city in the entire U.S.A.

I wouldn’t put it passed Haley Barbour to send loyal GOP establishment voters to vote for the RAT to sabotage a McDaniel write in campaign, If they knew for sure Cochran wasnt gonna win.

Why do you think that the GOP continues to do what they did in MS and Ky,etal “ Because they know they can get away with it. They know, and it has been proved over and over again. They know that when they stab the Conservative candidate in the back, or otherwise eliminate them, those who call themselves Conservatives will bitch for a while, but by election day 9 out of 10 of them will be back in the fold, voting for the Party guy.

Wow. Did you vote for Mitt? Did you vote for McCain? Did you vote for W? Did you vote for Dole? Did you vote for GHWB? Shoot, even President Reagan compromised as president and governor.

I wouldnt put it passed Haley Barbour to send loyal GOP establishment voters to vote for the RAT to sabotage a McDaniel write in campaign, If they knew for sure Cochran wasnt gonna win. Excellent point for a strategy discussion. I would expect that many of the GOP-e are simply so unprincipled as to follow such directions.
If the TEA Party votes for the RINO after such a disgusting display of dishonor, are they not betraying their own principles.
So the RINOs are playing a numbers game.
If their candidate gets a TEA Party challenger in the primary, they use their Democrat "friends" to defeat them.
If the TEA party candidate wins the primary, they'll use their Democrat "friends" to defeat them in the general election.
If the TEA Party stays home on election day (or votes for the Democrat), the Democrat could very well win in MS.
If the TEA Party starts a write-in campaign for McDaniels or other suitable candidate, they might lose, but they might also win in a three-way split.
Otherwise, they lose with either the Democrat or with the RINO.

If the TEA party just lays down and doesn’t fight after what the GOPe did to them, it will be terrible for the movement. Hopefully money is flowing in to fight this because a write in campaign is very winnable. There are a lot of angry people out there.

There is a big difference between compromising in office and being compromised before the election even takes place. The Republican leftists “compromise” by totally capitulating issues to the Democrats with nothing gained for “our side”.
Now we have candidates totally beholdened to the Democrats before the election. Why would any self-respecting conservative vote for that? I cannot think of a reason.
