Gene Kelleys home was hit with the artillery shell after it was fired at the Oklahoma Full Auto Shoot and Trade Show. No one was hurt in the incident, but the cannons owner has agreed to pay for Kelleys damages.
Homeowner Gene Kelley heard a huge crash and was shocked to find a 14-and-a-half-inch-long 105 howitzer artillery shell lying on his bedroom floor.

Cannon is correct, Howitzer is common. Guns are on the deck of a ship.
Naval Gun can be fired at a somewhat, high angle of attack, but are better suited for direct fire...kinda like a rifle.

It might have ricocheted off the ground and then flew back up into the air.
then arced very slightly while traveling 189 ft (58 m) in a downward net angle of 19 degrees then entered President Kennedy's rear suit coat at about 1,700 feet per second.
Impacted, then entered President Kennedy 2 inches (51 mm) to the right of his spine.
damaged the President's first thoracic vertebra
passed through his neck.
exited President Kennedy's throat, at the centerline below the President's Adam's apple.
passed through both sides of his shirt collar-front
nicked President Kennedy's tie-knot on its upper left side.
traveled the 25.5 inches (650 mm) between President Kennedy and Governor Connally
impacted and entered Connally's back just below and behind his right armpit
completely destroyed 127 millimeters (5 in) of Connally's fifth right rib bone as it smashed through his chest
exited slightly below his right nipple
passed through Connally's shirt and suit coat front
entered through Connally's right upper (outside) wrist,
broke his right radius wrist bone at its widest point,
exited the palm (inner) side of Connally's wrist,
entered the front side of his left thigh,
buried itself shallowly into Connally's left thigh muscles

I wisht I had a nickel for every time the Massachusetts National Guard at Otis shelled the Cape Cod canal due to an azimuth error. They don’t fire artillery there anymore. I spent 16 weeks in Sill, and the folks around the base used to complain about the thunder. Where I live now is a few miles from (Fort) Devens, and when the Army did artillery drills there, you hear and feel it for miles.

Sorry My bad. I’ve already posted several goggle links and a pic further down thread.

2LT + Back Azimuth = FUBARLOL. Happened at Ft Hood. 180º off shooting north instead of south at Sugar Loaf Mountain. M109A6 put a few new stock tanks in a guy's barnyard and blew out a few windows.
