What looked like it could be an anomaly is beginning to look like a real thing in Kentucky. The Democratic challenger to Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY), Alison Lundergan Grimes, is leading in a new poll from Public Policy Polling (PPP) by 2 points, on the heels of McConnells primary win. Thats right if this is McConnells post-primary bump, hes in trouble.
The poll contains a flood of bad news for McConnell. Eighty-nine percent of respondents are more likely to vote for a candidate who will pass legislation to create jobs. By an 80%-14% margin, voters (including 70% of Republicans) want a candidate that will close tax loopholes on millionaires. Seventy-eight percent of voters want a candidate who will end gridlock and partisanship. Seventy-six percent want a candidate that will make sure that the rich and corporations pay their fair share of taxes, and by a margin of 63%-31% voters oppose cutting taxes for the wealthy and corporations.
Mitch McConnell opposes everything that Kentucky voters said they supported in the paragraph above. Whats even worse for McConnell is that voters strongly oppose what he supports. McConnell has been a vocal supporter of tax cuts for the wealthy and corporations. McConnell has personally blocked a wide range of job creation bills in the Senate, and he has publicly admitted that he is using gridlock as a strategy to destroy the Obama presidency.

Well if Mitch gets re-elected he will vote for amnesty. If the Dem gets elected he will vote for amnesty. So what difference does it make?
What’s the point of 80% when they will then pass out flyers calling you a racist, and recruit black Democrats for votes to stay in office?
I live in Michigan, and I know how left-wing a senator can be, but I’m not whoring myself for any GOPEer that talks like a Dem like these clowns are.
Uuuhhh....
Have you ever considered “...sending a strong message...” to the DEMOCRATS?
I’m sorry but I can’t see how electing, or “helping” to elect, DEMOCRATS will “save” America.
I don’t see how your “my way or the highway” ultimatums work in a real democracy or a real republic.
And I don’t see how the damage done to America by allowing Obama to replace one or more of our “Originalist” Supreme Court Justices with new “Evolving Constitution” Supreme Court Justices can be permitted.
So, I’m sorry if Mitch McConnell once upon a time did something that hurt your feelings...
...but I think that preserving America from a perverse application of Obama’s appointment power is a far, far more important issue than making YOU “feel good”....
So you admit and advocate supporting Democrats.
I'll try to make it simple so even YOU can understand. You have a blood-bath in November, send a message to the smug GOPe, send the McConnells and the Boehners and the Cochrans packing, and maybe, just maybe, we can start the process of building a Party that actually IS different from the Democrats. It will take time! You've got to be patient, don-o! I know it's hard, but try to focus...we can't keep going down this path we're currently on. Try to think: Get rid of the BAD GOP...get rid of the BAD GOP...they're like weeds in the garden...they're like weeds in the garden...
OR, you can keep voting for a GOP that just keeps putting more and more of their own Democrat clones in place, like the senile Cochran.
If you can't see this, then there's no hope for you.
Time for a reverse Mississippi. TEA should vote for the democrat. Balance things out, and teach em a lesson.
Oh, good Lord, some of these people are hopeless, cuban leaf...
Or maybe Mitch could get his dem voters to cross over and vote GOP again. lol
Vote FOR the best person even if it means a write-in campaign.
Choosing the lesser of two evils means endorsing evil!
Do you suppose this is why MILLIONS never vote?
The message to Democrats is clear: You created this mess, you own it. We’re not going to allow liberal Republicans to accept it as a Republican problem if R voters never supported the liberal Dem policies which created it.
Better to have a Dem taking accountability than to put a RINO back in who will take ownership of failed Dem policies and ‘reach across the aisle’ to share blame and author more failed policies.
Are you serious?
“Remember Mississippi” is the rallying cry for some sorely overdue reverse chaos.
War is hell, but McConnell is the Beau Bergdorf of the Republican Party. Propping up this guy facilitates more, not less, of open destruction of the TP movement, which McConnell is engaged in.
They are truly forming a Uni Party to consolidate power, by combining with Marxists to crush us. Favors are being funded and exchanged between them as we speak.
Sheesh. Cut McConnell loose. Cantor loses and McConnel loses, only then do we take any meaningful lasting ground.
Wrong.
You are an agent of the Dems (and worse) whether you know it or not.
She is 36 years old If this woman wins she will be in the Senate for 40 years.
You are working to establish a liberal Democrat lifetime Senate seat in Kentucky.
He could always pass out walking money, call democrats racists
and promise to bring home the pork.
It worked for Cochran.
“you actually prefer a Senator who certainly will kowtow to Harry Reid, every time? “
Tell us when Mitch has EVER stood up to the dems and it wasn’t a façade for a prearranged deal. For bonus points, tell us how to “put the heat” on an elected official besides unseating them. Make a phone call? Send a letter?
The ONLY heat they understand is money and votes. They get their money from the big guys and their lobbyists, not 20 dollar checks from ma and pa. That leaves us exactly one way to apply heat, election day.
By voting out Mitch, we apply heat to all the others. And even possibly teach an honest lesson to the dem we put there in his place. Mitch has lead one thing and one thing only,,, the war against TEA. Screw him.
Understanding rage is not at all difficult. That is what I am hearing. Following your fantasy is not at all difficult. Accepting all that as a strategy to advance Conservatism is where it gets shaky.
LISTEN to Ted Cruz. He knows how the real world works.
You've got to be kidding me. That's rather adolescent...
McConnell isn’t the barn. The permanent structure that we count on. He is molded hay inside it. Needs to be removed and burned because it’ll sicken the livestock.
