BREAKING: 25,000-35,000 Democratic Voters Carried Thad Cochran to Victory

Mitch McConnell, the NRSC and the Chamber of Commerce went all in for moderate Thad Cochran in Mississippi (57% conservative rating with Heritage Action):

Back in Washington, Cochran’s most important allies resolved to muffle their anxiety and stick with him for another three weeks. The Chamber of Commerce polled the race, concluded the senator had a difficult but viable path to victory; the group began brainstorming inventive ways to make a splash in the state, culminating with a sensational commercial starring NFL legend Brett Favre. National Republican Senatorial Committee political director Ward Baker, confronted with Beltway pessimism about Cochran’s chances, repeatedly told Republicans in D.C.: “We don’t leave our people on the field.”

But it took 35K Democrats to push him past grassroots challenger Chris McDaniel:

Surprisingly, more votes were cast in the runoff than in the June 3 primary. McDaniel increased his vote from 155,000 on June 3 to 184,600 last night. But the 25-35,000 Dems who crossed over to vote for Cochran gave him the extra margin to surpass his opponent.

This is more reason for Chris McDaniel to run as a write-in candidate in the general election.

Hey, actions have consequences. The GOP had plenty of time to think this through on the front end.

I outright reject any plea to "stay with the party," although I am sure many of these pleas are made with good intentions. The party is dishonest, untrustworthy, and immoral. I do not want to be associated with it.

If you really are a retired army guy and you don’t find what the GOP/Thad did was off the charts disgusting/crooked/unforgivable, well then....

And this is not to you Army, but ANY GOP, Republican, Conservative (both individual or group) that EVER uses race/racism accusations against another GOP, Republican, Conservative is a piece of (fill in what you want). I would treat such a person as I would a rotted, tick infested rat. Probably worse.

Yes, the dem is wildly popular and the gop wildly unpopular. Both aid in the destruction of a very deadly cancer that is killing our country.

Vote against the RINO, vote dem!

‘Please don’t drop your party membership now.’

How I wish I could. It would make a much needed statement. However, the GOP became too liberal for me the first time they pushed amnesty—including my two Dem-Lite senators, Chambliss & Isakson—so I dropped it then. Been an Independent ever since. Never regretted it till now. I’d like to be able to switch a second time today, just to drive home the point.

How many of Rove’s blacks voted twice? That’s the question that matters now.

How many of these supporters of Mississippi’s ancient Thad will vote for him in the general election?

Does the Republican left think Tea Party supporters of McDaniel will forget how they were slandered, and vote for Thad?

When the GOP comes calling, tell them to call Thad’s voters.

The Democrat Senate candidate is actually more conservative then Thad Cochran.

Yeh until he gets to DC where Harry (the booty) scReid has them in tow. How many Dem Senators voted for BarryCare? I think all of them-so much for blue dog DemRats. Its an extinct breed.

How likely do you think it is that at least 20% of the 30,000 democrats who voted in the runoff also voted in the dem primary?

A Mississippi FR posted yesterday someone ahead of him in the voting line was turned away because he voted in the early Democrat primary.

IIRC, there was a >30,000 increase in the number of votes in a single county that is 68% black. Draw your own conclusions.

In Oklahoma, you get a different ballot according to what party you are registered with. Mississippi should be contacting Oklahoma to find out how it’s done ... :-) ...

WRONG

McDaniel should RUN AS A WRITE-IN CANDIDATE

I don’t care if Cochran loses

Democrats cheat!

They have to cheat -- they would lose if they didn't. WHY?

Because liberals are a minority in America.

Remember it next time you hear a conservative whine, "Americans are stupid! They voted for these clowns!"

Wrong -- pretend Americans, fake Americans, imaginary Americans, illegals, and otherwise indifferent Americans harvested by GOTV efforts, "voted for these clowns." REAL Americans reject liberalism almost two to one -- IT'S WHY DEMOCRATS CHEAT.

One of the biggest challenges we conservatives face is HAVING FAITH in our fellow Americans. As long as we hold our fellow countrymen in contempt on a false premise, we are automatically on a path to failure.

So we know the fraud was attempted. How rigorous do you think the screening was in those precincts most likely to attempt the fraud?

Good to hear that at least one precinct worker was doing their job.

One of the biggest challenges we conservatives face is HAVING FAITH in our fellow Americans.

Another critical challenge is to stop the fraud. The crooks are out there saying there is no fraud but every week we see more evidence of it.

Text of my email to the RNC:

I hope the establishment enjoyed there pyrrhic victory last Tuesday in Mississippi.

Those who identify themselves as ‘Taxed Enough Already’ have taken note of the behavior of those we thought to be ‘Republican’.

Once we pull all the knives from our backs placed there by those we voted for I doubt you will be able to count on our votes.

No kidding.

Perhaps you should try fundraising from Thads ‘new voters’?

Good luck with that.

You have lost me, and a huge number of those of like mind.

My father told me years ago, “when someone shows you who they are, believe them”.

I know who you are now.

Goodbye.

This level of corruption in the Republican party should encourage any patriotic American to drop their party membership. I don't care what Limbaugh or any other republican says about a third party being a loser, it's time for a third party that will accommodate the 70+% of Americans that have no faith in either the Dem or the Repub party.

Yep. Emotional loyalties die hard, especially when they can be bolstered by rationalizing that it's just too risky to change course, ala "third parties always lose."

Well, as far as I'm concerned, we're not talking about a third party. In reality, we're talking about a SECOND PARTY because functionally, Democrats and Republicans promote the same values and strategies via one party with two names.

Third parties generally lose -- but a SECOND party has every chance of winning.
