Wow. Even Travis Childers, a Democrat, has a more accurate assessment of this cesspool excuse for an election than ANY Fox news ‘objective’ commentator (StireDOLT or Carl Cameron miniRove) or ANY Repuke on the Hill.

I truly hope Cochran does debate and is exposed as the senile incontinent buffoon he is!

Yup. That GOP really made a winning move. you know what? We should vote for them no matter what and show them we want more winning moves! Reinforce the message that was sent with Romney. More ‘lesser’ evil!

What a swell idea!

It’ll be interesting to see if Thad can manage to duck any debates...if the Miss MSM will let him skate..

"One thing is clear tonight: Senator Cochran does not have the confidence of his state, let alone his own party. The majority of Republicans voted for change in Washington. And if we are going to change Washington, we will need to change who we send to Washington."

Well, the Cochran camp sure handed them that angle on a silver platter.

Between the Dem angle and pi$$ed off TEA party folks, the GOPe might win the battle and lose the war.

Childers should run his entire campaign attacking Republican donors and consultants.

Well, the GOP has been throwing Conservatives under the bus for quite a while, now, but they usually wait until after the general election.

Now, however, with a rallying point, Conservatives have demonstrated that they will not automatically vote Republican, in the sense of supporting incumbents.

When the GOPe has to run to the opposing camp to retain power, that pretty much demonstrates what the focus is--retaining that power, damn the constituents, at all costs.

It also indicates a level of desperation to defeat any voices which might disrupt the status quo in D.C. which basically pits the uniparty against Conservatives.

It is the reason there has been diddley-squat for opposition in Washington to some of the most egregious deeds of the Obama Administration, and an utter lack of resolve in taking the lawless within that administration to task.

The length of the list of Felons' names coming out of this administration should rival the length of the list of executive orders.

Cochran's campaign stunt should be the wake-up call for those who have yet to peek into the crap behind the curtain...and the actions of the GOPe couldn't come at a worse time in our History. Instead of reaching out on policy to those who have in the past (occasionally grudgingly) supported them, they reached out to the opposition when those Conservatives decided to throw their hat in the ring. That speaks volumes.

This is gonna be interesting. One can bet the Dems are gonna hammer Cochran when he doesn’t debate, that he spends most of his time in DC and they’ll try to claim he’s a racist( tho he called his own voting base racist).

Oh yes get the popcorn out.

You keep barking up the wrong tree with this “lesser evil” strawman.

Find anyone, even a past abortion doctor who stole a million dollars in a ponzi scheme and raped 100 men and women, who now is a believer and sincere about it, and you will have a better candidate than many “moral” Congressmen.

It could BE that the Democrat dalliance will pull Cochran down. Now I’m hearing that a write-in is not possible for McDaniels — that is not supported in Mississippi. And he couldn’t register under a third party either. So unless he wins this battle to prove election fraud, he’s out of the picture.

I can just see the GOPe call for action now
“We must put aside our differences and unite to defeat the democrats and keep our seat in the senate”

Only thing is, myself and MANY others here are not going to play that game any longer. Call on your democrat friends to get him re elected.

Actually after reading Childer’s wiki, he might be the man to vote for even if he is a Dem. He appears to be a blue dog Democrat who is pro-life and pro-gun rights and is Southern Baptist to boot.

Any local Mississippi folks that can give an insight into his true beliefs would be helpful.

Even many Dems in the south are fairly conservative...just sayin’

...plus it would stick it to the GOPe for once!

I won’t vote for Childers in November because he would support Harry Reid, just as he supported Pelosi when he was in the House. That said, our country was better off when there were more moderate voices in the Senate on the Democrat side of the aisle. One of the worst things that has happened in Washington has been the loss of Democrats such as Sam Nunn and John Breaux. Don’t get me wrong, I didn’t support them because they weren’t conservatives, but they weren’t anti-American Marxists either.

By the way, I had a fairly extensive conversation with Childers a few years ago. I wasn’t impressed with his intellect, but I found him likeable one on one and he struck me as a reasonable man. We discussed the Federal Reserve, tax policy, and some of his votes in the House. His mentality seemed in line with the typical rural Southern Democrats I knew many years ago. He is probably more conservative than many Republicans from other parts of the country. He opposed Obamacare, Cap-and-Trade, and TARP when he was in the House. He also voted to repeal obamacare’s individual mandate, plus he’s pro-life and pro-gun (as Mississippians will be reminded ad nauseum the next few months). Again, I don’t support him because I can’t support Harry Reid and I believe he’s naive about what his Party actually stands for, but I won’t cry if he defeats Thad. The GOP deserves what it gets.
