Washington called Gen. Charles Lee a poltroon.
I am reading “1776” by David McCullough and highly recommend it. You would enjoy it.
George Washington remains the greatest of all presidents.
Oh I know I would! I haven’t got around to buying it yet. I do have the one he wrote about John Adams; my Mom bought it for me a few years ago. It’s really good, and I’ve learned a lot more about those years and people than before! There’s another one some people might enjoy reading, and surprisingly, not many know about!
It’s called “Desperate Sons”, and is a story about the Sons of Liberty and the old time “Tea Party” and events that occurred before the Revolutionary War started! I can’t think of the author’s name right now, but I got it on Barnes and Noble’s web site (I think). I had received a Nook (e book)for Christmas a few years ago, and a gift certificate, so I saw that one and bought it!
It could be Amazon, but I’m fairly sure it was on the Nook section of Barnes and Noble. You can visit both and type it in, and should be on one of them! It’s a very good, informative, and insightful study on that period of turmoil before the war got started! I haven’t read all the way through, yet, but I like to read it in parts and take my time to absorb it!
