LOL, I have not heard that term recently, but in my whole 20 years as an air traffic controller, I only saw WOXOF conditions once, and it was not in Vietnam. BTW, like fighter pilots, most USAF air traffic controllers have a bit of a swagger too.
Aviators can’t do it without controllers. You earned your swagger. My first night carrier approach was a hook-down, full stop in 300-1/2 Wx. Worst June gloom off the West coast I can recall. CV had gone all the way up to SFO to find holes. Didn’t squeeze the black juice out of the stick, but man, I appreciated that calm CCA voice in my headset. Made an OK3, no lie!
