Congressional investigators have uncovered emails showing that a former Internal Revenue Service official at the heart of the tea party investigation sought an audit of a Republican senator in December 2012.

Dr. Ben Carson was audited by the IRS following his speech at the prayer breakfast where Obama was also in attendance. Remember Obama writing something down and we all thought it was probably notes on how Obamacare could be improved based on the Dr's comments? Well, NO... Obama was writing "Order the IRS to AUDIT THIS BASTARD!!! (Ben Carson)"

Her colleague, though, pushed back on the idea, saying an offer to pay for his wife is “not prohibited on its face.” There is no indication from the emails that Lerner pursued the issue any further.

Yup. Kind of like when Diane Feinstein didn't say boo about the government snooping in our emails and phone calls, until they did it to her computer and she went on the floor of the Senate bitching and moaning in outrage. When their ox is gored, well, that's different!

It sounds like the wrong invitation was placed in the wrong envelope.

Notice how she swooped down on the opportunity to GET a Republican senator for the very chance of wrongdoing. If it was Barbara Boxer it would have never crossed her mind and she would have accepted in order to do air kisses with Babs on that stage.

Notice from the copy of that email, her initial message was ----"Sent from my Blackberry Wireless Handheld."

Does anyone know where emails sent from a Blackberry are stored? On the device itself? If so, they should subpoena hers and those of the others whose HDDs mysteriously crashed.

In a statement, Grassley’s office said the senator did not attend the event, and did not receive any invitation intended for Lerner.

“This kind of thing fuels the deep concerns many people have about political targeting by the IRS and by officials at the highest levels,” Grassley said. “It’s very troubling that a simple clerical mix-up could get a taxpayer immediately referred for an IRS exam without any due diligence from agency officials.”
