Simple underfolder AKM it would appear, the grips appear to be aftermarket addons. It’s not an AMD or variant as near as I can tell, barrel is too long and it looks like it has the wrong muzzle brake.
A modified ak-47.

I took a look at it and judging from the front sight, it looks a lot like an AK-47. Understandable if he is living with, working closely with, Afgan’s.
The magazine looks to be a 30 round for 7.62x39.
