the area these “scientists” are recommending for “protection” wont be the last.

But that dead and rotting wood is critical habitat for rare and endangered fungi, insects & other arthropods, molds, and viruses. It is critically important to save that critical habitat. /sarc

I am chagrined to admit that I no longer feel great sympathy for those caught in the cauldron of WILDFIRES.
The eco-nuts preventing the clear cutting of fire-breaks, the clearing of fallen timber (read FIRE FUEL) and other proven methods of either preventing firestorm disasters or at least minimizing their annual destruction.
Why do people put up with such a thing as the “Annual wildfire SEASON?”
Forest fires are indeed part of nature, but there are things that can alleviate the destruction to populated areas.
The victims are told to rebuild that which they lost for “such a good and noble cause.” Stupidity rules the day.
