We not only have an open primary in Washington State, but the top two vote getters in the primary move on to the general election. That means two Democrats could be on the ballot in the general election! You can't make this stuff up.

The answer has to be a Federal Election Law that governs how primary elections for All Federal offices (including U.S. Senate) are set in ALL States and ALL paid for by the Feds. Other local and State elections could occur at the same time at the same polls.
For one benefit, it would forever eliminate the GOPe ramrodding the Republican Party. Bad idea?
