I don’t agree at all. I think conservatives are really rasy to please. Follow the platform to the 80th percentile and get a vote.

The actual problem is demonstratedly, conservatives are too damn concerned what their friends thing. Many may be as rabid as I get when home alone with their thoughts. But they simply want to avoid personal confrontation with their friends online and in real life. So they ‘moderate’ each and every time one disagrees.

They cannot reconcile the two. In their minds or in reality. They simply do not understand why people can’t see what they see. So they compromise to fit in.

Not many Alphas out there willing to stand their ground when things get uncomfortable much less when it counts. Personally I don’t think I’m an Alpha. I just am willing to fight for what I know to be true.

The first step conservatives have to take is to realize they are not alone. the second is to realize that conservatism isn’t black magic with some mysterious Codex that will unlock hidden truths. The truths are there in plain sight. The high priests are all of us.

And when you think about it, how ‘pure’ is 80% anyway? Thats 1 in 5 votes with a liberal. Certainly no unrealistic high bar.

This is all dog simple. So simple that the reality is elusive.

There are a mere handful, a fraction of a fraction that would not accept the traditional 80%. Forget them. Collectively we can do this by SIMPLY sticking to that one simple thing. If a conservative can hit 80, vote for him.

And any conservative that can hit 80 isn’t likely an abortion backer or going to be an amnesty fan. Forget rating systems from GOP managed groups. Go with what your eyes see.

Problem solved.

I know of a Nation that was founded on this kind of thinking.

As for the 80%...that will require some more thought. To me, a Constitutional conservative is transparent and not a potential spy. We will agree on enough to stand side by side. It's the 80/10/5/5 "conservatives" such as Lindsey Graham that make me skeptical of the other 80 percenters. R2z

Well, I guess I am one of those eeeeeevillll purists then. LOL! Because 80% is not good enough for me. Or rather the 20% had better not be on either infanticide or RKBA or you can forget it. If the 20% is on things such as gambling, legalized drugs, or prostitution that I do disagree with but don’t get much in a lather about, then I guess we could come to a deal. Problem is that tolerable 20% is different for different people.
