Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will collect a $225,000 speaking fee from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in October, it emerged on Tuesday.
Clinton will deliver the keynote address at an invitation-only gala for philanthropists and other high-dollar donors who support UNLV. The university said private funds are being tapped to pay her speaking fee.
But students see a zero-sum financial gain in which that money could have chipped away at tuition increases.
Money is fungible, so the funds paid to Mrs. Clinton could have been directed toward tuition hike remediation. But then, the donors who chipped-in to have their pictures taken with Hillary might not get the memento they expected. Unless, of course, Mrs. Clinton made the speech for free, or perhaps only for the modest fee of 5 or 10 thousand dollars. But accepting such a measly sum for an hour or so of work would be a considerable hardship and beneath her dignity, wouldn’t it? Why, the average American voter would understand how such a fee wouldn’t be acceptable, I am sure. Much better that the students cough up higher tuition.

This is how the universities reward public officials for funneling your tax dollars their way.
I thought her rate was 200K. Well, she got a 10% raise.
Must be because she’s such an accomplished author, not to mention likely presidential candidate. Or, maybe it’s because she used to be poor, and now pays taxes at ordinary income rates. /S
It’s all about influence peddling. If she didn’t have potential power, or contacts, no one would pay these exorbitant fees to hear her drone on and make fake efforts to connect by opening her bug-eyes wide while pointing at imaginary supporters in the audience.
They should all be prosecuted and imprisoned for racketeering and the financial rape of taxpayers.

Obviously UNLV is going to have hilly come back and speak to the students again soon. The 4% increase has to be spent on worthy people, ya know. The students and their parents are NOT worthy of NOT paying more to have the wisdom of hilly. hilly is worth the 4% increase to students and their families. hilly is broke, ya know.

It’s OK, she’s for everything the students at UNLV stand for.
It’s time that state legislatures forced the state university system to open up the books and admit cost per each professor and each employee. Let’s put the books into an open status and get an idea of how much it takes to run a real university.

“How I survived poverty with only $8 million in cash in my pocket”
So $225k is $8.33 each. So given a choice between Chipotle for lunch or listening to Hilldiebeast, how many of those students would have opted for the latter?
How many will actually attend her speech, not counting faculty? None. Because its a fundraiser. A fundraiser with 1,000 attendees at $200 a plate. So, by simple math, UNLV is paying for a forum, food, and $225k speaking fee, in order to collect $200k in donations. Yea, nothing fishy about that.
